While Some Disrespecting NFL Players Take A Knee – Other Players Are Doing This To Take A STAND On The Field!

While Colin Kaepernick is disrespecting America and making a Black Lives Matter spectacle of himself, others such as Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz of the New York Giants are going to make a statement honoring 9/11. The Seattle Seahawks were originally going to sit during the National Anthem on 9/11, but due to a massive outcry they have reversed that stance. They could learn a thing or two from the New York Giants. Cruz’s cleats feature the FDNY and Beckham’s feature American Eagles and images of the collapsed towers.

Tomorrow is the 15th year anniversary of 9/11 and will feature the first full Sunday slate of NFL games. I hope every player and team does something to honor the nearly 3,000 Americans who perished that day in the towers. It’s nice to see that some athletes still honor America and her fallen heroes, even if others are choosing between sitting on their ass in protest and having their head up that same piece of real estate.

From Young Conservatives:

New York Giants players and staff showed up San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick by making it a point to pay tribute to the National Anthem during a preseason game in August.

The Seattle Seahawks on the other hand, plan to sit out the anthem on Sunday, Sept. 11.

There are sure to be other players around the league who will follow in Kaepernick’s footsteps, as well.

Now, time for the good news.

Two members of the Giants, wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz, will honor the 2,997 lives that perished 15 years ago with special cleats on the field.

I can’t believe it has been 15 years and we are still dithering and not addressing the enemy. Remember back in 2001 when NFL players ran onto the field proudly waving Old Glory after the Twin Towers went down? I do. Evidently, those days don’t come back.

Troy Cole, whose shoe company Kickasso designed the footwear, told ESPN:

“It’s a special cleat for a couple reasons. I mean opening day is on 9/11. And Odell wanted to pay tribute to the heroes of 9/11, and not toward the tragedy aspect, with the falling building and the heroes all around kind of helping and saving people. That is why it’s kind of special and going to be pretty cool.”

The New York Giants will face the Dallas Cowboys tomorrow. Cruz and Beckham are heroes to many… and now they are to me as well.
