What kind of monsters do something like this? In Georgia, police rescued a puppy from a car where he had been left by his owners while they went into a mall… for two hours. The windows were cracked, but the police who rescued the fluff ball said it was a good 98 degrees in the car. They spotted the puppy panting under the seat and the car smelled heavily of marijuana. The man and woman who owned the puppy have now been arrested. Police broke a window to rescue the dog and saved the pup’s life.
From Rare:
A man and woman have been arrested after police said they left a puppy in a hot car in Buford, Georgia.
Authorities said officers had to break a car window at the Mall of Georgia Tuesday to rescue the puppy, named Coco, after someone called 911 around 7 p.m.
The 911 caller told the dispatcher that she heard a dog inside a vehicle panting and crying.
According to police, the car windows were cracked, but the temperature inside the car was 98 degrees.
The responding officers said they could hear the dog crying. When an officer tried to peek inside the car, he said he noticed the smell of marijuana.
He said he also saw a small puppy hiding under the passenger seat. The puppy was panting and breathing heavily.
After the officer retrieved the puppy, the responding officers got the small dog some water and immediately placed her in an air-conditioned patrol car.
The puppy’s name is Coco. A good Samaritan called the police who came to rescue the little one. The puppy had been panting and crying. The officers gave the pup water and put him in their car where it was cooled by air conditioning. They found pot in the car as well. The car’s occupants, Somsanit Thammavong, 38 and Cala Franks, 25, were arrested. They face cruelty to animals and marijuana-possession charges. The occupants had told the police they only went in for a few minutes, but security footage told the real story – it was two hours of hell for that little dog. Some people should not own pets.
