Obama Warns Trump: Don’t Overuse Executive Orders

Wow… Obama has got to be kidding. He’s actually warning Donald Trump not to overuse Executive Orders. From the man who signed them left and right as fast as he could in order to do as much damage as possible. That takes being a hypocrite to a whole new level. In an exit interview with NPR and with only one month left in office (thank God), Obama had the stones to lecture President-elect Donald Trump on signing Executive Orders. He knows full well that Trump can undo almost everything he has done in eight long years and I hope he does. The arrogance of this thug stuns me.

It turns out elections do have consequences… even for Marxists. Trump has laid out an aggressive first 100 days in office and one of the first things he has on the menu is nixing a bunch of regulations that Obama has brought into being. And Trump has vowed to undo ALL of Obama’s Executive Orders. Obama is urging Trump to use Congress and I’m sure he will, but I also doubt that he wants much advice from the likes of Barack Obama.

WASHINGTON, Dec. 19 (UPI) — With about one month to go before he leaves office, President Barack Obama gave some exit interview-type advice to his successor Donald Trump: Don’t rely too heavily on executive orders.

In an interview with NPR’s Steve Inskeep on Thursday that aired in its entirety Monday on Morning Edition, Obama said it’s preferable to work with Congress.

“Keep in mind, though, that my strong preference has always been to legislate when I can get legislation done,” Obama said from the Cabinet Room in the White House. “In my first two years, I wasn’t relying on executive powers, because I had big majorities in the Congress and we were able to get bills done, get bills passed. And even after we lost the majorities in Congress, I bent over backwards consistently to try to find compromise and a legislative solution to some of the big problems that we’ve got — a classic example being immigration reform, where I held off for years in taking some of the executive actions that I ultimately took in pursuit of a bipartisan solution — one that, by the way, did pass through the Senate on a bipartisan basis with our help.”

In 2014, Obama signed executive orders that shielded millions living in the country illegally from deportation.

In the NPR interview, Obama also covered how he thinks the Democratic party needs to regroup and rebuild. He admits their strongholds are on both coasts and they need to work on that. Obama realizes that Clinton did not appeal to young people, the working class, minorities, women or hell… anyone. It might mean some fundamental changes in the way the Democratic Party operates, Obama said.

This is Obama’s opening salvo to return to community organizing. We won’t be rid of him; we should be so lucky. He’s going to be a royal pain in the ass from here on out. Maybe there’s an Executive Order for that.
