Tim Kaine on Colin Kaepernick

Tim Kaine on Colin Kaepernick

If Hillary’s health is as precarious as some say, we need to learn more about Tim Kaine, who could be president before long. His response to NFL has-been Colin Kaepernick’s vile behavior is not encouraging:

At Thursday night’s game against the San Diego Chargers, which will feature a Salute to the Military event, Kaepernick is expected to sit again during the national anthem. Good Morning America host George Stephanopoulos asked Kaine about it during the latter’s run of media appearances Thursday morning.

“You’re the father of a Marine. What’s your reaction to Colin Kaepernick?” Stephanopoulos asked.

“You know, you’ve got to respect people’s ability to act according to their conscience,” Kaine said.

Kaine softens his support with “I’d do it differently” and “when I heard him explain his rationale, [it] didn’t really make that much sense to me,” but his hedging misses the point. Refusing to offer respect to your country is not a matter of conscience. At best it is a matter of leftist political posturing. At worse, the overpaid punk actually means it, and hates America. Either way, Kaepernick’s behavior deserves no respect whatsoever.
