Christina Grimmie, a 22 year-old singer who placed third on The Voice in 2014, was fatally shot three times outside a concert venue while she signed autographs Friday night in Florida. She passed away after being transported to the hospital. Her killer is a white, 27 year-old male. No motive has been found yet, but it looks like he targeted Christina. He traveled specifically to the concert armed with 2 guns, a hunting knife and extra ammo. Grimmie’s brother tackled the guy after he shot his sister and the shooter killed himself. Somehow, the police believe he was actually planning on leaving after the kill and going home, but who knows? They say her brother may have saved many other lives. There was security there, but they were not armed.

The Orlando Police Department announced at a live news conference Saturday morning that the suspect who shot Christina Grimmie is a 27-year old white male. He is not local. He was armed with two handguns and a hunting knife.
Police hailed Mark brother as a “hero” who “possibly saved countless other lives” Friday night. There was security at the venue but they were not armed, and there were no additional OPD officers at the event, police said.
Detectives are looking at the suspect’s phone and computer and hope to identify a motive. His name will be released in a few hours, police said.
What a tragic loss and for no sane reason at all. A publicist for Christina Grimmie, Heather Walsh, said in an email early Saturday that “we can confirm that Christina has passed and went home to be with the Lord.” The Orlando Police Department also confirmed on its official Twitter page that Grimmie had died. They don’t believe the man knew Grimmie – but he must have been obsessed with her. America is not a safe place anymore… crime and evil intentions are becoming rampant and it’s not getting better out there. When you take God out of the equation and substitute anger, vengeance and an entitlement mob mentality, things spiral out of control. The shooter’s name should be released sometime today. I hope they find out if there was some reason he did this, not that it matters in the end. My prayers are with Christina’s family and her friends. We truly lost a tremendous talent with her passing and a good person that will be missed by so many. Just heart breaking.
