Hard Times Ahead for Global Warming Hoaxers

Lefties are encouraged to keep up the protests bordering on riots, the burning Trump in effigy, the disgusted editorials. Trump cannot endure being disrespected, and will go to great lengths to retaliate — hopefully resulting in more of this:

Trump comes into office with a plan to toss out most of what President Obama achieved on energy and the environment.

Wonderful. More good news:

While vowing to “cancel” the international Paris climate accord Obama championed, Trump would also rearrange domestic energy and environmental priorities. He wants to open up federal lands to oil and gas drilling and coal mining. He wants to eliminate regulations he calls needless. He would scrap proposed regulations for tighter methane controls on domestic drillers. And he wants to shrink the role of the Environmental Protection Agency to a mostly advisory one and pull back the Clean Power Plan, Obama’s proposed plan to push utilities toward lower carbon emissions.

Better to abolish the EPA altogether, but why quibble?

Although Trump has portrayed himself as the ultimate outsider, in putting together a transition team the New York real estate mogul has chosen veteran Washington insiders, many of them lobbyists for fossil fuel companies and skeptics about climate science.

Speaking of skeptics, check out who he chose to lead his EPA transition team:

Myron Ebell, director of the Center for Energy and Environment at the conservative Competitive Enterprise Institute, is spearheading Trump’s transition plans for EPA…

Ebell is a well-known and polarizing figure in the energy and environment realm. His participation in the EPA transition signals that the Trump team is looking to drastically reshape the climate policies the agency has pursued under the Obama administration. Ebell’s role is likely to infuriate environmentalists and Democrats but buoy critics of Obama’s climate rules.

Ebell, who was dubbed an “elegant nerd” and a “policy wonk” by Vanity Fair, is known for his prolific writings that question what he calls climate change “alarmism.” He appears frequently in the media and before Congress. He’s also chairman of the Cooler Heads Coalition, a group of nonprofits that “question global warming alarmism and oppose energy-rationing policies.”

Ebell’s view of climate change is exquisitely sane:

He told Vanity Fair in 2007, “There has been a little bit of warming … but it’s been very modest and well within the range for natural variability, and whether it’s caused by human beings or not, it’s nothing to worry about.”

This is regarded as blasphemy by the moonbats who have been in charge. However,

Ebell appears to relish criticism from the left.

There will be no shortage of that. Trump won’t relish it. He may be instigated by it to move ever farther from the liberal point of view that characterized his outlook until a year ago. One way to stick it to his critics will be to delegate more authority to people like Ebell. All of us will benefit — except the flourishing polar bears, who will never know the difference.

Here to pour the global warming Kool-Aid down the drain.
