Liberal Hypocrisy Never Takes a Day Off

Now that Donald Trump has become the president elect, we should assume no shortage of leftist double standards to come. As the republicans will now have control of the legislative and executive branches, the expectation is that they will use the same governmental procedures to roll back Obama’s oppressive agenda items that the dems used to implement them.

 

From the democrats, we should then fully anticipate cries of foul play. As Trump rolls back the illegal executive actions thrust on us by Obama, the left will inexplicably conclude that he has not the authority to just write decrees. We’ll have to wait and see on that, but one such double-standard has already surfaced, months before Trump taking office.

 

I take you back to last spring, when the State of North Carolina had the nerve to pass a law stating that if you were born a male, you must use only the male restrooms and locker rooms, and vice versa. I still cannot believe that was and is controversial. To the left however, anything which attempts to maintain American or even reasonable human values is somehow abhorrent, and must be disassembled or destroyed in favor of the lunatic fringe.

 

Rather than begrudgingly accept federalism and the right of States to pass such internal measures which affect no other State, the Obama administration did what statists do. They called the measure unconstitutional. I guess if any administration knows what is unconstitutional, this one does. Of course they are wrong, but no matter. The forced implementation of the radical LGBT agenda is all that matters.

 

When the Governor of N.C. refused to comply with the Reichstag in D.C., Obama threatened the State with withholding federal funding for schools, highways and housing. Even if you agree with the federal government sending money to States, which I do not and nor did the founders, this is a clear cut case of extortion.

 

In April, the New York Times wrote  that, “Cutting off any federal money — or even simply threatening to do so — would put major new pressure on North Carolina to repeal the law… A loss of federal money could send the state into a budget crisis and jeopardize services that are central to daily life.

 

Now the shoe is the other foot and the incoming Trump administration is said to be weighing the possibility of withholding federal funds to “sanctuary cities.” During the campaign, Trump was adamant about cutting off all funding if cities and States attempt to block the feds from deporting illegals.

 

Okay, hold it. Isn’t this also just extortion? How is this any different from what Obama threatened?

 

What Obama did was extortion and what Trump is proposing is not. There is a major difference in that unlike bestowing extra-constitutional rights on a single class of people, as Obama wished, immigration enforcement and border control is an actual constitutional function of the federal government. Also, N.C. is well within its rights to pass such a “bathroom bill,” which affects no other State. However, sanctuary cities are taking federal government money and spending it illegally. Big difference!

 

But already, cities like New York, San Francisco. Los Angeles and Chicago have vowed not only to not help the feds, but as Mayor Rohm Emmanuel exclaimed, “To all those who are, after Tuesday’s election, very nervous and filled with anxiety as we’ve spoken to, you are safe in Chicago, you are secure in Chicago, and you are supported in Chicago,” Emanuel said. “Chicago will always be a sanctuary city.”

 

He and other leftist Mayors of their respective failed cities, who can ill-afford to fund the illegals, are being hailed as courageous and heroes to all immigrants.

 

Yes, they are courageous and heroic and 100% hypocrites, as not a single person on the left considered the Governor of North Carolina in the same light. 

The funny thing is that if the multiple billions of dollars of federal funding were to dry up, the actual citizens living in these cities, who are also dependent on federal largess, will turn on these illegals in a heart beat. When citizens realize the only reason they too are cut off from services is because their Mayor is siding with illegals over them, revolts will soon follow.
