The Left Isn’t Going To Roll Chick-fil-A

Chicago Alderman Joe Moreno has been publicly saying that he rolled Chick-fil-A and that it’s not going to be supporting anti-gay marriage groups anymore. For its part, Chick-fil-A seems to be ready to move past the issue, so it’s not necessarily a surprise that it released a deliberately ambiguous statement about its policy. But, when push came to shove,Chick-fil-A let it be known that it hasn’t moved an inch.

On Friday, Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy said media reports claiming the restaurant chain will no longer give charitable donations to groups that oppose same-sex marriage are untrue.

Cathy issued a statement on former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee’s website, one day after Chick-fil-A released a company statement arguing that their corporate giving has been “mischaracterized” by the media.

“There continues to be erroneous implications in the media that Chick-fil-A changed our practices and priorities in order to obtain permission for a new restaurant in Chicago. That is incorrect. Chick-fil-A made no such concessions, and we remain true to who we are and who we have been,” Cathy wrote in his statement.

Anybody who thinks that a company that forgoes more than half a billion dollars in revenue every year by staying closed on Sunday is going to be rolled on an issue it believes is central to its Christian faith must be drunker than Ted Kennedy when he drove off that bridge. It’s just not going to happen.
