Trump’s Lies Don’t Seem to Matter

Complaining about Donald Trump seems to some like sour grapes. I know it appears this way, but it’s not. Sure I say I’m a Cruz guy, but I’m really a Constitution guy. If anyone running was closer to the idea of upholding the Constitution, I would be their guy. It’s not a matter of sour grapes – that “my guy” isn’t winning and Trump is. It’s that Trump is winning and by extension, the Constitution is losing.

As Cruz says, Trump has a habit of calling him out as a liar over Cruz’s supposed “attack ads,” when all Cruz ever does is run ads literally showing video of Trump saying the exact opposite thing he claims to now stand for or against. How is that dishonest to show potential voters just who they might be pulling the lever for?

Yet his supporters eat up the vitriol. They love when Trump goes on the attack. His supporters appear to completely dismiss what they see and hear, instead opting for Trump’s red-meat sound bite attacking of Cruz, or Carson, or whomever is the target du-jour. It’s like they’ve been mesmerized by The Donald and can’t be woken from their dream-like state. What, are you going to believe – me or your lying eyes and ears? Evidently the former.

If you have children, you’ve more than likely watched a lot of kids’ movies. I know I have – some, more than I can count. One movie we’ve watched was Wreck-It Ralph. It’s funny what one recalls from watching these things over and over. It’s a movie about the lives of video game characters inside an arcade. Anyway, at the end of the movie, the villain and his thousands of minions are defeated by being hypnotized by this beacon of light – like a giant bug zapper. They are uncontrollably drawn to the light, despite the fact that it will spell their certain demise.

Glenn Beck saw this first hand as he spoke to Nevada caucus voters on Cruz’s behalf. There where but a few Trump women in the crowd, yet they did everything they could do disrupt the event, constantly interrupting Beck and using foul language. Beck says that Trump is creating a brigade of brainwashed “Brown Shirts,” the gangs of Hitler/Ernst Röhm thugs that travelled around strong-arming citizens and generally doing his dirty work. Of course when Hitler completed his takeover of Germany they were wiped out by the SS. But hey – they were useful at the time.

Mark Levin documented Trump’s latest rant at one of his campaign events where he tells the crowd in Las Vegas he really knows very little about the topic of federal land ownership. Trump boldly exclaimed: “Cruz – he’s got an ad – it’s a Cruz scam – [again calling Cruz a liar] – something to do with – I am backing the federal government to keep the land that’s currently owned by the federal government and we should give that land to everybody…”

Trump then says: “Well, it’s not a subject I know anything about… This guy [Cruz] is sick – there’s something wrong with this guy…”

Well Donald, just like any number of previous lies you’ve told regarding your myriad of flip-flops, this too is well documented. On several occasions The Donald has proved he does know about this topic. He even wrote an op-ed in the Reno Gazette-Journal, on January 28th, 2016.

“The BLM controls over 85 percent of the land in Nevada,” Trump explains. So far it’s pretty clear it is a “subject” he knows about. He then goes on to rail against the feds for their land grab and writes “Where are the city and county to get the land for schools, roads, parks and other public use areas if they have to beg Washington for the land and then pay a premium price for it?”

Gee Don – it sounds a lot like you desire to get the feds out of the land business. It sounds a lot like Ted Cruz’s position, but you tell your mind-numbed followers you know nothing about it.

Yet a mere 7 days earlier (Jan. 21) Trump did an interview with Anthony Licata of Field & Stream where The Donald said he didn’t like the idea of transferring land from the feds back to the states. “I don’t like the idea because I want to keep the lands great, and you don’t know what the state is going to do,” Trump said. He added, “We have to protect the Second Amendment, and we have to protect our lands.” Only a centralized, one size fits all federal government can “protect our lands,” I suppose.

And this is the Washington outsider? Really?! What’s next? Would he then take our homes, because he doesn’t know what we’d do with them?

To all you Trump followers – don’t believe me or anyone else. Before you and he just shout “Liar, Liar,” go back and look for yourself at any number of positions he’s taken and then you tell us that we’re the crazy ones – we’re the liars.
