Little Girl Is Dared To Drink Boiling Water Through A Straw – I Wish She Didn’t

Okay, I can’t believe I have to say this, but don’t dare impressionable children to drink boiling water through a straw. Or at all.

An 8 year-old Florida girl is now dead after her cousin dared her to drink boiling water. But she didn’t die immediately, which is perhaps the most painful part of this whole story.

This is one of those stories that breaks your heart all over the place.

Ki’ari Pope drank boiling water through a straw on a dare from her cousin. Months later, she was pronounced dead at 12:15 AM.

After the incident, the young girl was forced to undergo a tracheotomy which left her deaf and resulted in chronic respiratory issues.

Marquisia Bonner admitted that her daughter drank boiling water on a dare in March.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time that the authorities have had to investigate this family in regards to Pope. There have been at least nine other reports of either neglect or abuse since the poor young girl was born, which is enough to make you wonder whether this really was a dare, or if it was blatant abuse.

Department Secretary Mike Carroll issued a statement on the death of the young girl issuing condolences to her loved ones as well as assuring everyone that they will look with law enforcement to determine exactly what happened to the 8 year-old girl.

‘We have opened a child death investigation to examine the circumstances surrounding her death and will deploy a Critical Incident Rapid Response Team to review all interactions this family has had with Florida’s child welfare system.’

‘We will also continue to work closely with law enforcement to support their continued efforts.’

I hope this young girl wasn’t abused by her family, but if she was, I hope it comes to light so we can get justice for her.
