Grandma Heads To Jail After Cops See What She Did With Naked Toddler

How could someone do something like this to someone they love or are even just caring for? A 41 year-old woman was given the task of watching a 2 year-old. People called into the police that the toddler was standing in the middle of a state highway in only a diaper. It’s a miracle the child was not hit and killed. Evidently this is not the first incident of neglect at this particular residence and probably with this same woman.

ASSUMPTION PARISH, LA (WAFB) –
A Labadieville woman has been arrested for deserting a child who was found alone on a highway, according to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Ivone Pina, 41, was arrested and charged with child desertion after deputies responded to calls regarding a 2-year-old child was standing in the middle of a state highway wearing only a diaper.

Deputies investigated the incident and determined the child was supposed to be in the care of Pina at the time of the incident.

Reports say Pina did not realize the child had been missing, despite the child being absent for approximately 30 minutes.

The sheriff’s office said this is not the first incident reported to their office regarding unsupervised children in the residence.

Pina was booked into the parish’s detention center in Napoleonville. Her bond has not been set yet.

This happened in Louisiana. Ivone Pina was charged with a single count of child desertion. She should have gotten the book thrown at her for gross negligence. The child had been missing for about 30 minutes when it was called in… long enough for very, very bad things to happen to the little one. When police questioned Pina, she said she did not know the child was missing and thought the baby was still in the house. Few details are being released, but I assume the child was taken into protective custody and an investigation is ongoing. Some people should not be allowed to watch children or be anywhere near them. Case in point.
