Matthew McConaughey’s wife becomes a citizen the legal way and Americans cheer

This is fantastic! I’ve always been a fan and have admired Matthew McConaughey for a very long time. It’s wonderful that his wife is now an American citizen. She’s married to an American and could have just skated on his citizenship and celebrity, but she did it right and legally. They have a beautiful family with three little children. I’m sure Matthew is extremely proud of his beautiful wife and he should be. She is a fantastic addition to the American family. And she is a Texan to boot! Welcome Camila… it is an honor to call you an American. With so many serious and pressing matters in America these days, it is refreshing to get good news like this and to know a new patriot worked hard and went about coming to our country legally and officially. What a great day for the McConaugheys and for America!

From BizPac Review:

Oscar-winning actor and former ‘Sexiest Man Alive,’ Matthew McConaughey is also a father of three and the very proud husband of a new American citizen.

McConaughey tweeted a photo of his family after the ceremony of citizenship for his wife of three years, Camila: ‘Congratulations Camila on getting your U.S. citizenship today – another fellow and great American.’

The Brazilian model, who could barely speak English when she arrived in the United States, shared her own thoughts with her fans:

‘First day back and look what I just went thru. It is with great pride and honor that I am happy to say I now hold an American passport!’

‘I have so much respect and appreciation for this country… #newuscitizen.’

Twitter lit up with congratulations, not only for becoming a legal citizen of the greatest country in the world, but also for officially becoming a TEXAN!

According to the Daily Mail:

Camila told The View back in 2013 she worked as a maid when she first came to the States at the age of 19, and that she could barely speak English at the time.

She said: ‘My father always told me, “Before you become a queen you have to learn how to take care of your own things.”

‘So I knew how to do all of it, but I had never really done it on a daily basis. So I was cleaning houses and I started working restaurants.’

Camila grew up in a farming family in Belo Horizonte in Brazil, and at the age of 15 visited her aunt in California and decided she was not going back. After years of hard work she started a career on modelling and has never looked back.

Legal Immigration

Legal Immigration

My son-in-law came here the right way from Denmark. We sponsored him and spent years filling out paperwork and dealing with the government. We don’t regret it in the least. It was the right thing to do and we adore Torben. He’s a brilliant engineer and teacher and a loving husband and son-in-law. Now he has three daughters who adore him as well. So, we can relate as a family and we know the determination and dedication it took for Camila to make America her official home. I’m very, very proud of her. She is someone I could call a friend and I know that she has great things ahead of her and her family. Matthew chose a bride well. Hard work is the basis of character and morality and determination are the glue that holds it together. This is what America was built on and this is the way immigration is supposed to work. No short cuts – just the law and in the end, citizenship.
