‘All moms are crazy – some are crazier than most’: Mommy blogger creates comical parody video to show two extreme types of parenting [Video]

That’s funny. Esther Anderson has made a video about two moms on the opposite ends of the parenting spectrum. Overprotective, or just let them roam free. I was more of a ‘let em go’ type mom… cleaning up messes as I could and laughing way too much. Every mom is different, but especially first-time moms can be obsessive concerning their babies and keeping them safe and clean. Lol. Babies will be babies.

Tampa, Florida-based mother Esther Anderson, who runs the blog Story of This Life ,
has created a parody video titled Two Types of Moms to illustrate just how different two parents can really be.

From the Daily Mail:

Are you a perfectionist when it comes to parenting? Or do you let your child figure things out for themselves, watching from the sidelines?

Tampa, Florida-based mother Esther Anderson, who runs the blog Story of This Life, has created a parody video titled Two Types of Moms to illustrate just how different two parents can really be.

‘All moms are crazy… some are crazier than most. We hope you’re somewhere in the middle,’ she explains.

Using exaggerated archetypes of parents (the mom who wraps her children in metaphorical and sometime literal cotton wool vs. the mom who lets her children eat dirt and run amok), Mrs Anderson highlights two opposite ends of the parenting spectrum.

After spending much of her childhood in the jungle, Mrs Anderson, mother to toddler Ellia, says she is definitely not a ‘germaphobe’, but that she represents the more relaxed version of motherhood.

The video took two afternoons to make, she said, adding that for the playground scene, another mother looked on as Mrs Anderson wrapped Ellia in a pillow.

‘She was looking at me like I was crazy. It was kind of embarrassing, actually,’ she laughed.

Mrs Anderson, who started her website and Facebook page three months ago, edits and films the videos herself, with a little bit of help from her husband, Thad. But she admits that the blog’s new-found popularity is slightly overwhelming.

‘My day job is my child. I’m trying to figure out how to balance being a mom and a wife and blogging,’ she said. But in the mean time, she said she is having fun getting into all kinds of mischief with Ellia.

I’m sure that mom did think she was nuts, wrapping her little one in a pillow and tape, while crowning her off with a helmet. Children were meant to fall down and skin their knees. That’s how they learn about life and living. It’s survival. You can protect a child way too much and as far as germs go, you can over do that. Exposure to germs is natural. Well, most germs. The eating dirt part is letting the child go a bit far, but it all comes out in the end. Looks like Ellia has a great mom and she has a sense of humor. That is critical for any parent, trust me.
