Brace Yourself for the Next Eric Holder
Probably the most appallingly inappropriate of all of Obama’s in-your-face hard left appointments was belatedly resigning Attorney General Eric Holder. No one save Obama himself has been willing to stoop lower to advance an extreme left-wing agenda.
Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) sums Holder up like this:
“Eric Holder’s tenure has been marked by the politicization of justice, disrespect for the rule of law and Constitution, and suppression of the truth. He will be remembered for being held in contempt of Congress for stonewalling the Fast and Furious investigation and for conducting a sham investigation into the targeting of conservative groups by the IRS.”
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) weighs in:
“For many years now, I have been calling for Attorney General Holder’s resignation. Not only has he lied before Members of Congress and, ultimately, been held in contempt, he has obfuscated the truth and been the most partisan, partial, prejudiced, and self-pitying Attorney General in my lifetime, including John Mitchell who went to jail for his crime.
“As a former judge who has questioned Holder numerous times before the House Judiciary Committee, it is frustrating to seek the truth and receive dishonesty and arrogance from the chief law enforcement officer of the United States government.
“Additionally, he has prosecuted more people for leaking, which sometimes is an effort at whistle blowing, than all other Attorneys General added together. He has not only failed to investigate crimes and potential crimes occurring in this administration, he has been the Cover-Upper-in-Chief and will be sorely missed by those in the administration like Lois Lerner who want to disobey the law and flaunt it.”
As Gohmert has pointed out, the Boston Marathon bombings might not have happened if Holder hadn’t enabled them.
Holder will probably be best remembered for quashing the prosecution of New Black Panther thugs who had been trying to scare whites away from the polls in Philadelphia, for his attempt to gin up bad press for the Second Amendment by providing American guns to Mexican drug cartels, for stonewalling any attempt to investigate the Obama Regime’s malfeasance (in particular regarding the weaponization of the IRS), for being held in contempt of Congress, for spying on and intimidating journalists, for treasonously siding with a hostile foreign nation to render an American state defenseless against invasion, for denouncing America as a “nation of cowards,” and for his systematic nationwide effort to destroy the integrity of our electoral system by facilitating voter fraud on the grounds that it is “racist” to require identification. Even before Obama appointed him, Holder was infamous for taking part in an armed occupation of the ROTC offices at Columbia, for pushing the obscene Marc Rich pardon, and for siding with terrorists against the American citizens they prey upon.
There is no more reprehensible political figure than this close personal friend of Barack Obama. That even 15% of Americans view him positively is alarming.
Rep. DeSantis says that “President Obama could hardly do worse when naming Holder’s successor.” Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK) even dares hope that
“Obama will nominate someone who will uphold our individual rights and ensure that the our government is held accountable for its actions.”
It would be nice to think that Holder has established a permanent low-water mark for the what is now laughingly referred to as the Injustice Department. But don’t be too sure:
Al Sharpton said his civil rights organization, the National Action Network, is “engaged in immediate conversations” with the White House as they work to name a successor to Attorney General Eric Holder…
Sharpton praised Holder, the first African-American attorney general, as the “best” one in history when it comes to civil rights.
Why wouldn’t he? Sharpton — whose racist demagoguery directly led to murder at Crown Heights and Freddy’s Fashion Mart — is on exactly the same page ideologically. For both him and Holder, “civil rights” means gouging your thumb deep into whitey’s eye and giving it a twist.
If Obama didn’t plan to replace Holder with someone else who would appeal to Sharpton — that is, someone absolutely unacceptable to any reasonable person — the resignation wouldn’t have been timed so that he can get the nominee rubberstamped by a lame duck Senate. Infamously spineless Republicans will approve most any appointment, but Obama appears to need leeway to appoint someone who not even go-along-to-get-along RINO enablers will be able to stomach. King Samir Shabazz must be polishing his résumé.
However, there is at least one other possible reason for Holder’s long-overdue resignation to come when it did:
A federal judge ordered the Justice Department Thursday to release a list of documents it is withholding from the public related to Operation Fast and Furious within the next month.
Calling the Obama administration’s request for further delays “unconvincing,” U.S. District Court Judge John D. Bates told the Justice Department to release the list of documents—called a “Vaughn index”—that the department is withholding by Oct. 22.
Considering Holder’s determination to suppress the documents, they must be incriminating in the extreme. Once the list is released, the documents themselves should eventually follow as they are pried loose from the Obama Regime one by one.
As Deputy Attorney General, Holder played a major role in the outrageous pardons Bill Clinton granted right before finally leaving office. If he is to stay out of prison, he will need a presidential pardon himself.
