Democrat Andre Carson Says TEA Party Wants Blacks “Hanging On A Tree”

It’s really amazing how much Democrats, especially elected Democrats, demonize and denigrate the TEA Party and the people who hold the basic ideals….limited government, limited spending, and limited taxation….despite having told us that it is a minor movement with no traction that will make no difference and doesn’t represent most Americans. Of course, we all know that the Left will attack what they fear the most, particularly in a personal and destructive manner. And here’s Andre Carson!

A top lawmaker in the Congressional Black Caucus says tea partiers on Capitol Hill would like to see African Americans hanging from trees and accuses the movement of wishing for a return to the Jim Crow era.

Rep. Andre Carson, a Democrat from Indiana who serves as the CBC’s chief vote counter, said at a CBC event in Miami that some in Congress would “love to see us as second-class citizens” and “some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and me…hanging on a tree.”

Carson also said the tea party is stopping change in Congress, likening it to “the effort that we’re seeing of Jim Crow.”

The explosive comments, caught on tape, were uploaded on the internet Tuesday, and Carson’s office stood by the remarks. Jason Tomcsi, Carson’s spokesman, said the comment was “in response to frustration voiced by many in Miami and in his home district in Indianapolis regarding Congress’ inability to bolster the economy.” Tomcsi, in an email, wrote that “the congressman used strong language because the Tea Party agenda jeopardizes our most vulnerable and leaves them without the ability to improve their economic standing.

Carson should simply resign. Imagine had a Republican said something along these lines. The media would have been in Barking Moonbat Unhinged Level 10. Democrat lawmakers would make speeches on the House and Senate floors (say, why the hell can’t we get a Republican to finally stand up for us in the same manner?) denouncing this uncivil and horrid talk. And they’d be right: this is exactly one of the kind of speech that the Framers were concerned about in drafting the 1st Amendment, name, elected federal officials retaliating against citizens who criticize and speak out against the government. It doesn’t violate the letter (“Congress shall pass no law….abridging the freedom of speech,…and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances”) of the 1st, but surely the spirit. The Framers did not intend free speech to be about being able to insult and stalk people on Twitter: they meant it so that people could speak out about the Federal government, as well as call for said redress of grievance without worrying about government going all King George on them.

And, yes, he aimed his comments at those on Capital Hill, but, we all know he meant all those who elected those officials. And there is plenty more on the video, via The Blaze, of the CBC going bat guano insane
