Wis. Grade School Pushes Test Answer That Says Republicans Hate Immigrants

The parents of an 8th-grader at Shattuck Middle School in Neenah, Wisconsin were shocked last week to discover that their child was given a test on politics that taught kids that Republicans hate immigrants and want to make sure they can’t ever become citizens of the US.

With a cartoon on top of the test page featuring a dark-skinned mason with a Democrat logo on his overalls building a brick walkway while a white mason with a Republican logo was tearing that same walkway up, the test asked what the men were doing in relationship to immigration and citizenship.

The child got an “A” when he answered a question on the immigration situation by saying, “the Democrat is building the Republican is destroying” the path to citizenship.

“I flipped it over to see if the opposite view was maybe on the other side of the homework assignment, but there’s nothing, just one side of paper,” the boy’s father, Scott Radies, said to IJR Review, the site that originally broke the story.

The teacher was obviously teaching the kids that Republicans hate immigrants. But the school claimed that it was “just” a “skill-building exercise.”

“It was basically a skill-building unit for reading and understanding a political cartoon. It was basically the simplest cartoon that [Davis] could find for an eighth-grade level as far as understanding the concept of a political cartoon,” Jim Strick, the Communications Director for the Neenah Joint School District, told the media.

This school is teaching kids that breaking our laws is perfectly fine and it is evil Republicans who are in the wrong.

Now do you understand why Gov. Walker opposed the Wisconsin teachers union? But no matter where you live, this is your public school systems, folks.
