BOOM! Trump Puts The NFL In CHECK After They Allowed Players To Disrespect Country And Flag [VIDEO]

The NFL is not having a good season. Thanks to Colin Kaepernick, NFL players across the league have been refusing the stand for the National Anthem in protest of “oppression” and as their league-wide protest grew, the NFL’s ratings steadily dropped. And according to Trump, it’s all because of him.

Trump was at a rally in Cincinnati on Thursday when he told the crowd that politics energized Americans more than sports do. “One of the announcers, I have to tell you, from ESPN. Now, they cover football and boxing and everything, right? And he went out and he said, ‘I gotta tell you, that event, last night’ — meaning the election results — ‘was better than any fight, any baseball game, any football game,’” he said.

He then told the crowd that they were the reason that the NFL’s ratings are suffering. “He said, ‘That was the most exciting event I’ve ever seen!’ And it was politics,” Trump declared. “And then you look at the NFL. Well now they should start recovering. But their ratings were so far down. And you know what the reason was? This. Because this business is tougher than the NFL. The people liked it. Their ratings were down 20 or 21 percent. And it was because of us.”

There has been lots of speculation as to why the NFL has had such bad ratings this season, with multiple factors suggested. But most people agree that Colin Kaepernick’s protest has played a large role, when he kicked off the trend of pretending to be so oppressed, that he couldn’t stand for the flag. “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder,” Kaepernick said.

In October, Trump claimed that Kaepernick was responsible for the decline in ratings.

It turns out that Trump wasn’t wrong. A Yahoo/YouGov poll found that of the 29% of fans who are watching less football than in previous years, 40% blamed the protests started by Kaepernick. The other reasons were lack of opportunity, a loss of interest and the presidential election.
