BREAKING NEWS: Trump Names Hope Hicks As New Interim W.H. Comms Director [VIDEO]

President Trump has tapped Hope Hicks as the interim communications director for the White House to replace Anthony Scaramucci. She has been with Trump since the beginning and seems to be a good choice. We’ll see. She will work with Sarah Huckabee Sanders and others to fill out the role and smooth out White House communications. Scaramucci only lasted eleven days, I think that Hicks will outdo him. She will hold the title of White House Director of Strategic Communications.

I don’t envy Hicks the job before her. It’s a tough, complicated one full of traps and potholes meant to trip people up. But she may just be savvy enough to navigate this particular mine field. She’s young and pretty… let’s see how she dances on her political feet. You can bet Chief of Staff John Kelly will be watching closely. He’s the one that got Scaramucci the boot and rightly so.

From Fox News:

Hope Hicks, the 28-year-old press aide who has worked with President Trump since before the campaign, has been named interim White House communications director.

A senior White House source confirmed to Fox News that Hicks will fill the role until the White House finds a permanent replacement.

A White House official also said in a brief statement that she “will work with White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and all of the communications team” as interim director. “We will make an announcement on a permanent communications director at the appropriate time,” the official said.

The announcement follows Anthony Scaramucci’s ouster from that post after just 11 days on the job. President Trump fired Scaramucci in the wake of profanity-laced comments he made about his then-White House colleagues to The New Yorker, which published the remarks.

This time, as he did last time, Trump chose a loyalist. However, Hicks has been with him even longer and has been a loyal press aide. She has actually been involved in the Trump circle of influence since her early 20’s. She began with a PR firm who had Ivanka as their client. She then later joined the Trump organization.

When Trump started running for the presidency in 2015, she was among the first to join his campaign. Since then, she has been a constant presence around Trump. She has stayed away from the limelight and TV interviews… the exact opposite of Scaramucci. That’s good news. She has survived a high turnover rate surrounding the Trump team. Hicks is a survivor, that’s for sure and must have the talent to back up her title or Trump would never have selected her. The difference here is you have someone who knows instinctively not to trust the media or bloviate to them. I wish Hope the best of luck in her new role.
