SCORE! Trump Gets The Call From Ford!

Ford Motor Company has been considering moving a plant from Kentucky to Mexico. It was a move that President-Elect Donald Trump has strongly opposed. Now, he can claim victory before he’s even taken office: Ford has decided not to move to Mexico after all.

Trump repeatedly criticized Ford for investing in Mexico and when he heard that Ford would not be opening a plant in Mexico, he took to Twitter to celebrate:

Ford, however, is claiming that they had no plans to close the plant in Kentucky to begin with. The plant in Louisville is where the Ford Escape and the Lincoln MKC are manufactured. Ford even made a commitment with the United Auto Workers union in 2015 to invest $700 million over the next four years in the plant. Still, Ford praised Trump in a statement regardless.

“Bill shared Ford’s continued commitment to invest in the U.S.,” they said. “We are encouraged that President-elect Trump and the new Congress will pursue policies that will improve U.S. competitiveness and make it possible to keep production of this vehicle here in the United States.”
