Trump Finally Explains The Real Reason He’s Always On Twitter

Does it feel like Trump never logs out of social media? One is inclined to wonder how he manages to get anything done if he’s always tweeting. How does he have the time to do anything else? Apparently I’m not the only one who has asked this question, because the President himself felt the need to address it. And did so on Twitter.

“I use Social Media not because I like to, but because it is the only way to fight a VERY dishonest and unfair ‘press,’ now often referred to as Fake News Media,” the President tweeted. “Phony and non-existent ‘sources’ are being used more often than ever. Many stories & reports a pure fiction!”

Politico has described Trump’s Twitter account as “a force, a newsmaker, an agitator, an American political phenomenon,” who has “shocked and traumatized those individuals on the receiving end” of his often-harsh tweets.

This is not the first time that Trump has been forced to take on the media via Twitter. In fact, most of America prefers that he delivers news directly to the media via his social platforms, rather than feeding it to the dishonest mainstream media and allowing them to chop it up and analyze it before it’s finally given to us for consumption. It’s one of the more alluring parts of his Presidency because we get everything – good and bad – straight from the horse’s mouth. This is opposed to past Presidents who spoke only to the media and allowed the machine to spin their message for the masses. This is great, I suppose, when you’re a liberal and the media is on your side. I mean, who wouldn’t want to look like a knight in shining armor here to save America when the reality is that the emperor isn’t wearing any clothes?

Trump doesn’t have the benefit of having the mainstream media in his pocket and now he’s using every tool at his disposal to make sure that he is in control of the message. This is both glorious and frustrating. It’s amazing because we haven’t had this much transparency from a President in a LONG time, but it’s frustrating because you can tell there is nobody proofing his tweets before they go out. Some of them are definitely unnecessary and unbecoming of the office, but I guess that’s what happens when you are getting info directly from the source in real time.
