Trump Strikeout

I try to like Donald Trump because of his stands on illegal and Muslim immigration. On other issues, he makes it hard.

If there is one outrage more intolerable than all the rest that have been inflicted in the name of political correctness, it is Affirmative Action, the principle by which coveted positions are awarded to the unqualified at the expense of the qualified in a display of reverence for favored groups like blacks. For example, qualified whites and Asians are denied positions in top schools to make way for less qualified blacks, who cannot keep up with the coursework and consequently fail. Those who are passed through the system lest there be a racial imbalance in graduation rates will forever have their credentials questioned, sometimes with good reason. Meanwhile, careers are blocked because of the sin of pale skin. The injustice and perniciousness of Affirmative Action are beyond obvious.

Trump backs Affirmative Action. Shamefully, he joined the liberal media in demonizing the great Antonin Scalia for observing that you do people no favors by putting them in schools where they won’t be able to keep up.

If there is one outrage more intolerable than all the rest that have been inflicted in the name of crony capitalism, it is ethanol subsidies. Taxpayer $billions are stuffed down this rat hole to produce fuel that is worse for the environment than normal gasoline, costs more, is less efficient, drives up the price of food, results in starvation in poor countries, and even damages the engines of our cars.

Trump backs ethanol subsidies. He wants votes in Iowa, so he is pandering to agribusiness, just as he panders to blacks on Affirmative Action. He doesn’t have to worry about betraying his conservative principles, because he doesn’t have any. This is a guy who adores the infamous Kelo decision, which grants the government the authority to seize private property on behalf of crony capitalists.

If there is one outrage more intolerable than all the rest the RINO establishment has inflicted, it is Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, a de facto ally of Barack Obama. At least Ted Cruz has stood up to him, courageously calling him out for his skeevy lies on the Senate floor.

Trump denounced Cruz for doing this, siding with McConnell by calling Cruz a “maniac” for standing up to him.

Strike three.

Supposedly Trump will do something about Third World immigration, the most urgent threat facing us. He had sure better. Otherwise he would be just another megalomaniacal liberal statist, who also backs tax hikes and socialized medicine, similar to what we have in the White House now.
