A California School Has A Toy-Gun Buyback

Where do the taxpayers get a “buyback” for all the money we’ve apparently wasted training idiots like this guy to run our schools?

toy guns

A Hayward, Calif., elementary school principal is making an afternoon game of cops-and-robbers considerably more difficult:

An elementary school will hold a toy gun exchange Saturday, offering students a book and a chance to win a bicycle if they turn in their play weapons.

Strobridge Elementary Principal Charles Hill maintains that children who play with toy guns may not take real guns seriously.

“Playing with toy guns, saying ‘I’m going to shoot you,’ desensitizes them, so as they get older, it’s easier for them to use a real gun,” Hill said.

If that’s his logic, then when is the steak knife and baseball bat buyback? Maybe he can have a buyback for the imaginary castles the little girls imagine when they play princess because it may encourage them to spend extravagantly when they get older. Also, is he having a video game buyback? Oh, and when is the baby doll buyback to try to prevent teen pregnancy?

Here’s an alternate suggestion for Principal Pansy Ass at Strobridge Elementary School: Instead of having toy gun buybacks, how about focusing on teaching the kids how to read, write and do math while you leave the gun safety lessons to the parents?
