SMACKDOWN: Rubio claims Cruz can’t speak Spanish at debate & Cruz humiliates him by doing this

After Ted Cruz called out Marco Rubio for lying to conservatives over the Gang-of-8 Bill, his support of amnesty and his promise on Univision not to immediately pull Obama’s executive order granting amnesty to Dreamers, Rubio thought he had a good retort.

“Well first of all,” the Florida senator replied, “I don’t know how he knows what I said on Univision because he doesn’t speak Spanish.”

With that, Cruz began responding to Rubio in Spanish.

Here’s what he said:

What Ted Cruz said in Spanish: “Vato si quieres dicelo ahora mismo, dicelo ahora en español, si quieres.” – @pychavez

The Associated Press characterized Cruz’s response as “halting and heavily accented” and “hard to understand — even for bilingual listeners.”

Rubio speaks fluent Spanish while Cruz has for years freely admitted that his Spanish is “lousy.”

By the way, Rubio, just because you talk up illegal immigration in Spanish doesn’t mean that the rest of us who don’t speak the language won’t hear about it. Maybe you should start telling people why anyone should believe a word you say about immigration after all your lies instead of taking a shot at Americans who don’t speak Spanish.
