Rubio Pledges To Filibuster Gun Control Legislation

Rand Paul electrified America with his 13 hour filibuster over Obama’s refusal to rule out killing Americans with drones on our own soil. After forcing Obama to back down on that issue, Rand Paul made news again by teaming up with Mike Lee and Ted Cruz to threaten a filibuster of gun control legislation as well.
Now, Marco Rubio has joined them and has become the 4th Republican Senator to sign onto the following letter.
Dear Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid,
We, the undersigned, intend to oppose any legislation that would oppose on the American people’s constitutional right to bear arms, or on their ability to exercise this right without being subjected to government surveillance.
The Second Amendment to the Constitution protects citizens’ right to self-defense. It speaks to history’s lesson that government cannot be in all places at all times, and history’s warning about the oppression of a government that tries.
The only remaining questions at this point? First, why hasn’t every Republican in the Senate signed onto the letter? Along the same lines, where are all of these Democrats who go home to their red and purple states and claim to be “pro-2nd Amendment?” They’ve been talking the talk, so when do they ever start walking the walk?
