How bad is the Clinton e-mail scandal? It’s bad enough that she’s getting slammed over at the ultra-liberal MSNBC, where host Lawrence O’Donnell said there is ‘no conceivable rational explanation’ for her to use a personal e-mail address.
In the immediate aftermath, a baffled Lawrence O’Donnell said there is “no conceivable rational explanation” for the former secretary to “legitimately” use a personal email in absence of an official State Department one.
“This is not a senior official at the Environmental Protection Agency or the Department of Agriculture. This is the secretary of state using a not secure commercial email system,” O’Donnell said.
“I just think there is something more going on here because it just raises so many questions,” said MSNBC analyst Beth Fouhy. “Where were the State Department lawyers who allowed this to go forward? Where were the top diplomats in other countries receiving these emails from [email protected] or something like that saying ‘wait a minute, this can’t possibly be an official missive from the secretary of state of the United States.’”
Of course, the explanation is obvious: Clinton wanted to be secretive and ensure that these e-mails remained off the record. The real question is, why didn’t anyone in the Obama administration step in? Why did they allow it to go on for her entire tenure as secretary of state?
