COOL! Bomb squad lovingly wires beeping eggs so blind children can enjoy Easter Egg Hunt

I think that this is not only incredibly cool, but a very, very kind thing to do. A trained bomb squad decided to wire Easter eggs so they would beep for blind children who wanted to go on an Easter Egg Hunt. I’m sure that made those children very happy. The material for the eggs was donated by the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators. The brightly colored, rather large plastic eggs were designed to beep so the children could easily follow the sound and find the eggs. “It was a drill that goes over basic electronics and allows me and the bomb techs to enhance our skills,” Captain Shajahan Jagtiani told the Washington Post. “Putting the eggs together, it is also something bigger than us.” What a fantastic and kind idea. A trained bomb squad conspired to make a happy Easter for blind children.

A group of technicians at the Prince George’s County Fire Department worked this week to create Easter eggs that were wired to beep so that blind children could hunt for them.

The eggs, which were made with material donated from the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators, were built to withstand rough handling and be used more than one time.

The Tampa Bay Area Regional Bomb Squad did something similar for blind children in their area. The irony of all this is not lost on me. Instead of having to defuse bombs planted by terrorists, these guys are wiring eggs for children on Easter. Instead of having to stop those who kill Christians, they are celebrating Christianity. Heh. I wonder if they set up the eggs to beep faster as a child approached them? Either way, I can’t think of a better way to help others over Easter. This is who we are and bless this bomb squad for doing this for these children.
