A gym teacher with a wife and three children is suing the celebrity prep: Trinity School: claiming his boss was a lesbian who fired him for his “traditional family status,” the New York Post reported Thursday.

trinityschool1219According to the Post, 50-year-old Gregory Kenney’s claims he worked happily for years at the school on New York’s Upper West Side — the alma mater of Hollywood tough-guy: Humphrey Bogart: and gay literary iconTruman Capote: — until a new athletic director took over in 2009.

Kenney’s suit claims the new boss required him to coach three sports, one more than his contract called for. When Kenney complained that the extra work interfered with his family life, according to the Post, Athletic Direct Pat Krieger told him, “we all make choices.”

When Kenney said he could no longer fulfill the extra duties, the suit claims, Krieger reported him to the school’s headmaster, leading to his dismissal, At the same time, “a single, female teacher faced no scrutiny when she refused to coach a third season” his suit states.

The suit also claims Krieger “routinely favored other single, younger females without children and discriminated against [him] because of his gender, sexual orientation, ‘traditional family status,’ and age,” according to the Post.

The workplace tension may have bled over into off hours, the suit states:

“On at least one occasion Kenney was dissuaded from attending social events with his peers because he was a heterosexual, married male with children, who wouldn’t fit in with [Krieger’s] ‘culture.’”

Kenney was replaced by a gay woman, according to the suit.

“He felt ostracized because of his family,” Kenney’s attorney, Steven Morelli told The Post.
