KARMA: Target CEO Admits Their Mistake On Bathroom Policy – Little Too Late…

Last year, Target created a massive controversy when they announced that they would allow men to use women’s restrooms in their stores. Boycotts immediately took place and Target stock plummeted. Now, a year later, Target CEO Brian Cornell is finally admitting that they made a huge mistake.

It took months for Target to acknowledge that the bathroom policy was hurting their bottom line, even as their stocks dropped and business slowed. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Cornell finally took some blame for the controversy… sort of.

“Target didn’t adequately assess the risk, and the ensuing backlash was self-inflicted,” he admitted. The only problem with his admission? He thought the problem was with how the new policy was publicized, which allegedly happened without his knowledge or consent. He claims he wouldn’t have approved the public statement, yet strangely, that exact statement remains on Target’s website to this day, which says that “inclusivity is a core value” at Target.

In the Wall Street Journal, it’s explained that an internal memo was sent to store managers outlining the official stance allowing men to use women’s restrooms. On April 15, 2016, a “risk committee” e-mailed executives with their plan to go public with the new policy — only Cornell wasn’t included in that e-mail. The executives thought that while there would be an initial backlash, it would die down quickly.

Clearly, they were wrong.

Target stock lost 35% of its value. Foot traffic into Target stores decreased. And boycotts quickly took place. And meanwhile, across the country, disastrous restroom policies like the one at Target resulted in criminal behavior. Men dressed as women were found to be spying on women through the bathroom stalls, stripping in front of, stalking and even assaulting women. Yet over and over again, liberals insisted that transgender bathroom policies carried virtually no risks and sexual predators wouldn’t abuse them.

Quite simply, liberals valued the feelings of the extremely tiny population of transgendered Americans more than they did the safety of women. Target made that same choice and now they’re paying for it.
