Former NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg denounced “safe spaces” during his commencement speech at the University of Michigan. He said exactly what everyone with a brain has been thinking for ages.

“The fact that some university boards and administrations now bow to pressure groups, and shield students from these ideas through safe spaces, code words, and trigger warnings, is in my view a terrible mistake. The whole purpose of college is to learn how to deal with difficult situations, not to run away from them. A microaggression is exactly that, micro.”

He even called the “safe spaces” dangerous. College students protesting and begging for safe spaces are the weakest of the weak and they won’t ever make it through real life if they can’t even handle college. Maybe there’s a job trying on straight jackets and running into padded walls that they can apply for.
