Trump Administration Just CUT Michelle Obama TWICE In A Row…

Michelle’s school lunch program was popular, but not for a good reason. Kids all over the country spent the last few years uploading photos of their gross meals to social media and news stories have been popping up showing that the lunches are so poorly planned that it was even contributing to obesity.

While pushing her lunch program, Michelle Obama also started a program called “Let Girls Learn” that provided education for girls in poor countries. You’ll notice that neither of these programs really helped American students.

Now, Trump is getting rid of both of them!

Let Girls Learn, under the Peace Corps will “wind down” although “some of its functions could continue,” as reported in the Washington Examiner.

Local students will be more interested in getting normal lunches back.

Specifically, the USDA just released their comments on the new direction of the program (emphasis mine) under U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue and it’s obvious that they’re taking one last shot at the awful Michelle-approved meals:

“This announcement is the result of years of feedback from students, schools, and food service experts about the challenges they are facing in meeting the final regulations for school meals,” Perdue said. “If kids aren’t eating the food, and it’s ending up in the trash, they aren’t getting any nutrition – thus undermining the intent of the program.”

Going further to dismantle the federal interference with local school lunch programs, Perdue had a few things to say about how Washington sees lunches compared to how the rest of the country sees them:

“I was talking to some folks in Washington about this, and they said that the current program is working. ‘How do you know?’ I asked. They said it’s because 99 percent of schools are at least partially compliant. Well, only in Washington can that be considered proof that the system is working as it was intended,” Perdue said. “A perfect example is in the south, where the schools want to serve grits. But the whole grain variety has little black flakes in it, and the kids won’t eat it. The school is compliant with the whole grain requirements, but no one is eating the grits. That doesn’t make any sense.”

In John Hawkins’ new book, ‘Things Young Adults Should Know’, he teaches that you shouldn’t stay in a bad situation because you’re afraid of change. I’m sure the students who will be getting real food again would agree!
