BREAKING: Bomb Found at Airport

BREAKING: Bomb Found at Airport

Terrorism is spreading rapidly across the globe now. This morning in Bulgaria, their main airport has been evacuated after finding an explosive device in a van. It was parked outside the airport. They are still trying to detonate or disarm the device. This was probably ISIS again. They have video of the event and the man leaving the van. Although it has Bulgarian plates, the man was not Bulgarian. We are light on details here. But one thing is for sure, a lot of people could have died it that van went boom.

Bomb threat: Bulgarian police used a bomb robot to investigate the van, which was found to contain an explosive device, after it had been parked outside the airport overnight.

From the Daily Mail:

Parts of Bulgaria’s main airport has been evacuated after authorities discovered an explosive device in a van parked just outside.

The van is reported to have ‘Belgian number plates’ and had been parked outside Sofia international airport overnight.

‘An explosive device had been found in the van,’ Sofia airport spokeswoman Daniela Veleva said, adding that police were still trying to dispose of the device.

The van was reportedly parked outside the airport at 1am with the owner of the car leaving at 5am.

Police have identified the owner of the van, a ‘non-Bulgarian’ but have not released any further information.

Bulgarian police had earlier evacuated a section of the airport’s Terminal 1 while bags seen in the van were checked.

Flights in and out of Sofia-Vrazhdebna Airport are currently delayed, with Terminal 1 evacuated and remaining closed until midnight, with flights operating out of Terminal 2.

Whoever parked the van there, put it there at 1 am and left the van at 5 am. I have no idea why he stayed with the van for four hours. They are using a robot to take care of the bomb. Flights were delayed into terminal one. I don’t know if they still are.

Update: it turns out they are claiming now there are no bombs or explosives involved per Reuters. I find that suspicious in itself. Bulgarian police evacuated part of Terminal 1 in Sofia’s international airport as officers moved in around the vehicle with Belgian registration plates. TV footage showed a police bomb disposal squad surrounded by counter-terrorism officers, border guards, fire fighters and medical teams. “No explosive device has so far been found, the check is still underway,” Sofia airport’s chief executive Hristo Shterianov told reporters, saying an earlier statement from the airport’s spokeswoman had not been correct. The airport said the terminal would be closed until midnight and all its flights transferred to Terminal 2. Stay tuned bat fans.
