After the white supremacists descended onto Charlottesville, Virginia, the city exploded into violence. Three people died and many more were injured. Donald Trump’s response to the tragedy left a lot of Americans unsatisfied and the allegations of Trump supporting white supremacists resurfaced again. So, some people showed up at Trump Tower in Manhattan to protest — and got a brilliant response from a New York City police officer.

When the group of protesters — who appear to be millennials — showed up at Trump Tower, NYPD officers came to move them away. The protests were arranged to coincide with Trump’s return to New York City and as police moved the protesters away, they did not respond well:

It didn’t take long for one officer to give this amazingly sarcastic quip — which the protesters seemed to misunderstand completely.

The protesters didn’t get the sarcasm at all. But Twitter didn’t miss it.
Lmao these protesters are so dumb https://t.co/tvu8u5EjNI

He's clearly mocking them. As 98.9% of other cops would have done. Myself included. https://t.co/u98KAFlBwQ

If this sarcasm was on SNL the writers would have to write 3 minutes into it to explain the sarcasm with props, stage setup and costumes

Um, he's mocking them. Him and the other cop are smiling. https://t.co/8JRBA3lEWI

Some heroes use sarcasm. https://t.co/WxhXGeSuQq

But who has time for sarcasm when there is protesting to be done? Or maybe they were just upset at being smacked down by a police officer, someone most liberals see as beneath them. Who knows?
