Liberty President Jerry Falwell Jr. and Johnnie Moore, vice president of communications,: were onstage to: interview Palin Wednesday. Falwell praised Palin for her grace under extreme media scrutiny over the past few years, and Moore asked Palin about the war on Christmas.

“There definitely is a war on Christmas,” she said. “The message of Christmas is a message of real hope, not the hopey, changey, dopey stuff you hear coming out of Washington.”

The war is being waged by “those who would want try to abort Christ out of Christmas,” Palin said, adding that they are “angry atheists armed with an attorney” who do not represent the majority of Americans.

Palin said: the tour to promote her new book,: “Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas,” is about restoring the nation’s principles, following the Founding Fathers’ intentions and spreading the bigger message of Christmas.

“Fear not,” she said. “Again, it’s that message of Christmas.Remember the angel came to Mary in a situation with less than ideal circumstances … and that message needs to be received by each one of you here today as you get out there in a pretty rough-and-tumble world. You’re going to be inundated in the workplace with cultural and societal pressures trying to beat you down.”

The former governor said she appreciated the university’s mission and had a message for its’ students,: the country’s future leaders.

“When it comes to families, when it comes to jobs, please remember that you do have purpose and you do have destiny,” she said.: ”God don’t make no junk,”
