‘Dilbert’ creator predicts Trump victory; how he ‘b*tch-slapped’ the Republican Party

Scott Adams must have read my mind. We are on exactly the same page here. Those who call Donald Trump a clown, are seriously underestimating the man and it will bite them. The Dilbert genius cartoonist had some very interesting things to say about The Trumpster, including a prediction that Trump will win the presidency. I might not go that far, but who knows? In the mean time, he is trout smacking the GOP and loving it. While I find Trump highly entertaining, if you look under the hood a bit, there is a brilliant strategist at work. Nothing he does is by chance… it’s planned to a tee. Trump reminds me of an alpha wolf – he circles his prey, nipping at them to weaken them… then he closes in for the kill. It’s elegant in its lethality.

Dilbert

From BizPac Review:

Count the creator of the world-famous Dilbert cartoons as someone else who believes Donald Trump will be the next president.

And he’s not joking.

Scott Adams, who is not only the creator of “Dilbert” but a trained hypnotist, wrote in a blog post titled “Clown Genius” that Trump is employing subtle hypnosis on the American people.

While it’s clear from his essay that Adams is no fan of Trump, he admits to a sort of grudging admiration. Noting that Trump literally wrote a book on the power of persuasion called “The Art of the Deal,” Adams writes that Trump has consistently won past the controversies his campaign has engendered by playing his cards exactly right.

For instance, Adams argues that Trump is a great negotiator and uses those skills to have the electorate “think past the sale” and see him as a successful businessman capable of running the nation.

The dust-up with Fox News, for instance, has put Trump in a stronger position than any GOP candidate when it comes to the cable network widely perceived as “conservative,” according to Adams. When Trump was asked on CNN about a National Review columnthat labeled him a “whiner,”  Adams wrote, Trump embraced the term and called it a measure of his willingness to win.

Moreover, Adams says, Trump has owned the GOP field and will carry his momentum and persuasion into a successful bid for the White House.

If you’re keeping score, in the past month Trump has bitch-slapped the entire Republican Party, redefined our expectations of politics, focused the national discussion on immigration, proposed the only new idea for handling ISIS, and taken functional control of FOX News. And I don’t think he put much effort into it. Imagine what he could do if he gave up golf.

As far as I can tell, Trump’s “crazy talk” is always in the correct direction for a skilled persuader. When Trump sets an “anchor” in your mind, it is never random. And it seems to work every time.

Now that Trump owns FOX, and I see how well his anchor trick works with the public, I’m going to predict he will be our next president. I think he will move to the center on social issues (already happening) and win against Clinton in a tight election.

Trump is a master negotiator – he could sell ice cubes to Eskimos and do it with a smile and a handshake. He could also negotiate the price of Obama’s soul down to nothing. Oops, too late for that. Every time Trump is attacked like he was on Fox News and in other venues, he embraces it and comes out stronger for it. He pretty much owns Fox now. And he gets all the attendant free publicity that goes with it. His opponents just stand in awe of the marketing powerhouse that is Trump. He wants to rebrand America as the greatest nation on earth once again. And that’s a message all of America can and will buy into.

Heed the words of Adams:

If you’re keeping score, in the past month Trump has b*tch-slapped the entire Republican Party, redefined our expectations of politics, focused the national discussion on immigration, proposed the only new idea for handling ISIS, and taken functional control of FOX News. And I don’t think he put much effort into it. Imagine what he could do if he gave up golf.

Trump uses ‘anchoring’ masterfully and he has hooked Americans on virtually every subject. His branding of himself is epic and it works. Just ask yourself what you remember about Trump and you will realize it is exactly what he wants you to. You don’t get to be a billionaire and a tycoon like Trump without being incredibly savvy, not only in business, but politics. The GOP has been played and owned. Good times.
