NFL Running Back Marshawn Lynch Sits During National Anthem

So, we now have a new un-American asshat in the NFL. Peachy. Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch failed to stand for the National Anthem in the game last night against the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale, Arizona. I have no idea if it is a political statement on Charlottesville or not, but it still bites and is insultingly unpatriotic. Way to insert yourself into the story and stir racial animosity even more. Instead, this jerk sat on a cooler and ate a banana. Racist!

Lynch’s coaches and teammates all stood for the National Anthem. Perhaps what happened to Colin Kaepernick should be visited upon Lynch. It would only be fitting. White supremacists committing crimes and atrocities does not equate to an excuse for hating America, the President and cops. And I might point out a couple of things here. What the white nationalists did yesterday was nothing short of brutal terrorism. One woman was run over and killed and 35 were injured. Two police officers also lost their lives in a helicopter while covering the violence. But Antifa, according to a source I have on the ground there, started the violence and Black Lives Matter was right in the mix of all of it. All of the aforementioned pretty much came from out of state. So, if Lynch is going to protest over racism, he better protest his buds as well.

The Raiders running back remained seated on a cooler while eating a banana as his teammates and coaches stood during the national anthem prior to the team’s Saturday night preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals. Lynch’s decision came in the wake of a violent white nationalist rally [with violence initiated by leftists while white nationalists were lawfully demonstrating] in Charlottesville, Va. earlier in the day where three people, including two police officers, were killed.

Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio told reporters after the game he was surprised by Lynch’s decision, and had a conversation with the veteran running back who had left the locker room before reporters were able to speak with him.

“He said, ‘This is something I have done for 11 years. It’s not a form of anything other than me being myself,’” Del Rio said. “I said, ‘So you understand how I feel, I very strongly believe in standing for the national anthem. But I respect you as a man and you can do your thing.

Lynch is a real classy guy. During his seasons with the Seattle Seahawks (2010-2015), Lynch was known to “celebrate” touchdowns by grabbing his crotch very visibly when entering the end zone. I have no idea what that was supposed to mean, but it was vulgar and disrespectful. He’s now 31 and getting a bit long in the tooth for the NFL. Maybe this is a grab at attention to pump up his career. Bad move and will do the exact opposite. He already retired once in February of 2016. Perhaps he should have stayed retired. Just sayin’.

Black Lives Matter was all over Lynch praising him for doing this. Racists of a feather. The NFL should not allow the politicization of yesterday’s horrific event. It will feed into the meme from both the extreme right and left to start a race war and perhaps a new civil war. It’s not just un-American, it’s dangerous. I doubt the Raiders will stop him though… they may approve of the publicity since they are definitely struggling as a team. Relocating to Vegas isn’t going to help them either in my book.
