The NFL has some interesting morals — Tim Tebow was chased out of the league because his Christianity was too much of a “distraction”, but people like Michael Vick, Ray Lewis, and Adrian Peterson are just fine. This anti-Christian attitude was on full display once again when quarterback Robert Griffin III was told not to wear his “Know Jesus” t-shirt during a press conference.
Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was told by an NFL representative to flip his ‘Know Jesus, Know Peace’ t-shirt inside-out at a press conference over his dislocated ankle on Sunday, reportedly because it was not a Nike t-shirt.
Now let’s assume that argument is legitimate. Then why were these policies not applied to Redskins teammate Ryan Kerrigan, who wore a non-Nike t-shirt to the press podium?
That would be a ‘Five Four Clothing’ t-shirt being worn by a Redskins player at the same press conference, according to CSN Washington.
… If there’s anything we know from the past few weeks of spousal abuse and child abuse stories coming out of the NFL, maybe letting a little personal message like RGIII’s go would have been a wise thing to do.
So the NFL will look the other way if someone is caught beating and killing dogs, knock their fiancé out in an elevator, be a suspect in a murder investigation, or beat their child with a switch so hard that it bleeds. But Heaven forbid a player openly display their Christian faith — that, evidently, the NFL just cannot tolerate.
