Well Known Conservative Blogger Comes Out as Gay Following Orlando Shooting

In the aftermath of the Orlando massacre, a leading conservative blogger has come out as a homosexual. The Gateway Pundit has served as a beacon for conservative news for years and the owner of the venerable blog, Jim Hoft, has come out of the closet in solidarity with homosexuals who were killed in the heinous attack.

From Mediaite:

After a gunman killed 49 people in a terrorist attack on a gay nightclubin Orlando, a prominent conservative blogger came out as gay in Monday blog post.

Jim Hoft is the proprietor of Gateway Pundit, a stridently conservative blog best known for its anti-Islam and pro-Israel stances and its embrace of anti-Obama conspiracy theories. Hoft has long been open about his sexuality to his friends and family, but never publicly addressed the issue.

“Like most gay Americans, I don’t wear my sexuality on my sleeve…” he wrote in a blog post cross-posted to Breitbart. “I’ve been a conservative activist for years. But today I’m coming out as a conservative gay activist.”

“Last night at least 49 gays were slaughtered at an Orlando club. Despite this obvious Islamic attack, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are still in denial,” continued Hoft. “I can no longer remain silent as my gay brothers and sisters are being slaughtered at dance clubs.”

Donald Trump, he argued, was “the one man who can lead this nation and protect all gays… I pray that gays will come back home to the Republican Party – no more death. Dear God, please no more death.”

Of course, in case anybody had any doubts about the high regard in which he holds Donald Trump, Hoft made sure to hail The Donald as a glorious leader.

Hoft’s admission doesn’t change a thing. He’s still a strong conservative voice at a time when we need strong conservative voices. How he chooses to live his life, so long as I’m expected to celebrate him, is of no concern to me.

However, Hoft’s declaration does touch on an important topic. He (and so, so, so many others) have wrongly confused this as an attack against homosexuals. This was an attack against the Western world – an attack against America.

It was homosexuals that were killed this time. Next time, ISIS could target a church, a synagogue or any other prominent American gathering place.

Until we can come together as a united people, we will remain a divided force vulnerable to terrorist attacks.
