This Week In Quotes: Dec 11 – Dec 17

I’m tired of Muslims taking every new terrorist outrage as the chance to lecture America on the supremacy of their culture and the steps me must take to better accommodate this culture and show more “respect” for it.

I do not expect them to accept blame that’s not theirs; but godd@mnit, I will not tolerate CAIR acting as the political wing of ISIS and acting as a “clean front” to deliver Global Jihad, Inc.’s list of demands to the West while the terrorist wings kill us.

That’s what terrorist groups do– they split off a “political wing” which is supposedly non-terrorist to serve as the respectable face of the movement. The terrorist group Black September created the allegedly non-terrorist PLO; the IRA created the allegedly non-terrorist Sinn Fein.

I’m sick to death of CAIR coming out and delivering ISIS’ list of grievances to us, on behalf of Muslims worldwide, while at the same time claiming that Islam has nothing to do with ISIS. — Ace

If Jeb Bush, establishment princeling, were to declare that he’ll have no part of a Republican Party with Donald Trump as nominee, Trump fans will laugh and extend their middle fingers and other voters will marvel at how quick the elites are to abandon the GOP when it’s having a rare populist moment. The donor class are all proud Republicans right up until the moment they can’t get their way, at which point they’re gone. Why should grassroots conservatives continue to turn out for lackluster establishment nominees like McCain and Romney if donors won’t return the favor for Trump? — Allahpundit

President Obama is a wartime president who doesn’t seem to realize it. — “Tom Cotton

For me, whiteness is not an identity but a moral problem. Becoming black is not the answer to the problem of whiteness, though I sympathize with the impulse… — Eula Bliss in the New York Times

Earlier today Rep. Stephen Lynch (D., Mass.) disclosed that a congressional investigation recently found that at least 72 people working at the Department of Homeland Security also “were on the terrorist watch list.” You know who wasn’t on the no-fly list? The San Bernardino shooters. Nor was the Fort Hood shooter. Nor the Boston bombers. Nor the Chattanooga shooter. In other words, no perpetrator of any major attack on American soil was on the no-fly list. — Jim Geraghty

Muslims account for only about 1 percent of the U.S. population but account for about half of terrorist attacks since 9/11. That means Muslims in the United States are about 5,000 percent more likely to commit terrorist attacks than non-Muslims. — Mark Krikorian

And now the Republicans have the largest number of seats in the House they’ve had in Congress since the Civil War. And it hasn’t made any difference at all. It is as though Nancy Pelosi is still running the House and Harry Reid is still running the Senate. “Betrayed” is not even the word here. What has happened here is worse than betrayal. Betrayal is pretty bad, but it’s worse than that. This was out-and-out, in-our-face lying, from the campaigns to individual statements made about the philosophical approach Republicans had to all this spending. There is no Republican Party! You know, we don’t even need a Republican Party if they’re gonna do this. You know, just elect Democrats, disband the Republican Party, and let the Democrats run it, because that’s what’s happening anyway. — Rush Limbaugh

Since taking control of the Senate, Republican leadership has joined hands with a majority of Democrats to thwart their own caucus’ efforts to stop the Obama agenda 24 times. During each of these 24 votes, this so-called Republican majority successfully passed legislation with a majority of Democrats in support and a majority of Republicans opposed. This is why I have said that Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is the most effective Democratic leader in modern times.

But don’t take my word for it. Take Sen. Chuck Schumer’s, the vice chair of the Senate Democratic conference. Today Sen. Schumer summed up what’s wrong with Washington when he told Politico, “Sen. McConnell wants to see the Senate work. But the good news for [Democrats] is, to make it work, he has to do basically our agenda.” — Ted Cruz

Rubio’s apparent reluctance to really work the trail is all a bit mystifying. He says he’s missing Senate votes because he’s busy campaigning, and then people in New Hampshire and Iowa get miffed that he’s nowhere to be found. You don’t need a lot of money to barnstorm, which is why it’s usually the preferred tactic of candidates like Rubio, who has lagged behind Cruz and Bush in the fundraising race. — Will Rahn

In other words, all of the disruption, spending, taxation, and premium hikes in Obamacare has only reduced the percentage of U.S. residents without health insurance by 2.7 percentage points, from 13.9% to 11.1%: a remarkably small reduction, and far lower than what the law was supposed to achieve. — Avik Roy

We let the assault weapons ban, which was led by our senator Dianne Feinstein, we let that lapse. So you know, multiautomatic round weapons are easily available, even though not in California, but they can cross the state line, as you know. — California Democratic Rep. Loretta Sanchez describes the terrible threat posed by rounds that don’t exist

But certainly, we know that there is a small group, and we don’t know how big that is — it can be anywhere between 5 and 20%, from the people that I speak to — that Islam is their religion and who have a desire for a caliphate and to institute that in anyway possible, and in particular go after what they consider Western norms — our way of life. — California Democratic Rep. Loretta Sanchez

But the victim is also inaccurately being eulogized as a kind and loving religious man. Make no mistake, as disgusting and deservedly dead as the hate-filled fanatical Muslim killers were, Thalasinos was also a hate-filled bigot. Death can’t change that. But in the U.S., we don’t die for speaking our minds. Or we’re not supposed to anyway. Thalasinos was an anti-government, anti-Islam, pro-NRA, rabidly anti-Planned Parenthood kinda guy, who posted that it would be “Freaking Awesome” if hateful Ann Coulter was named head of Homeland Security. — Linda Stasi, New York Daily News
