American flags gracing veterans’ graves is a national tradition, especially for the 4th of July.
So it was a shame to see that these veterans had their patriotism stripped from their graves yesterday. But, the awesome part, was that this local community was not going to stand for that kind of behavior.
According to this, the gravesites of military veterans in a cemetery in LaVerne, California, had American flags placed on them for the 4th of July. But then somebody thought it would be a good idea to remove those flags and throw them in the trash (the company who owns the cemetery said it was part of a quarterly cleanup, which… whatever).
Not cool. guys.

After the flags were removed, members of the community and volunteers banded together to replace the American flags with brand new ones on every gravestone of the military veterans buried in the cemetery.
We need more communities like LaVerne, California. These people took a stand when common sense told them that this was wrong.
Unfortunately, other areas of California would most likely have not had these veterans’ backs like this community did.
Kudos to these people!
