Alley-oops?! 3 Team USA Basketball Players Found in Rio Brothel…Their Excuse?

In an ill-advised move that in no way represents the USA honorably, three members of the men’s USA basketball team appear to have visited a brothel in Rio. What were these guys thinking? Oh wait, we know what they were thinking. When you are chosen to play for Team USA you are an ambassador for the entire nation. Leave the trashy behavior at home and man up. America’s kids are watching.

From the Daily Mail:

At least three members of the men’s team – DeAndre Jordan, DeMarcus ‘Boogie’ Cousins and DeMar Derozan – have allegedly been caught in a brothel in the city.

The trio were busted going into Termas Monte Carlo, an establishment described by Rolling Stone as ‘one of the high-end brothels in Rio’, according to reports.

According to TMZ, the gentleman’s club presents itself as a spa and staff have been instructed to give callers that line.

The only indication of the shop’s true purpose is when callers are told that it is for men only, and stocks a full bar.

The basketball team say the players took staff at their word and didn’t realize what they were walking into until they arrived.

A source told TMZ: ‘They realized it wasn’t the right place for them and immediately left.’

However, images from inside the club show Jordan hanging out by the bar, while Cousins stands with a girl who appears to have her arms wrapped around his waist.

Sources from the club say that the men bought some drinks while inside, but nothing else.

This behavior reflects badly on these three players. It’s time to let these “pros” know that they are expected to maintain the same high standards as the rest of the team, even if they are grown men making huge bank in the NBA. The standards apply to all Americans who compete in the Olympics. No one gets a pass. Make us proud, not disgusted. Show Rio and the world our best.
