Ariz. Takes Action; Cuts Lifetime Limit For Welfare to Shortest Time Frame in the US!

Arizona has taken steps that, in typical fashion, will likely enthrall taxpaying citizens and enrage society’s moochers. They have greatly limited lifetime welfare payouts to the shortest time frame in the U.S., according to a report from BizPac Review.

Reeling under the financial burden of a safety net gone awry, Arizona has acted to limit how long the stat’s residents can be on the public dole — to the shortest time frame in the United States.

The Arizona Legislature passed a bipartisan bill that reduced the lifetime limit for welfare benefits from 24 months to 12 months. It also passed a law requiring Medicaid recipients to get a job and limits those benefits to five years.

The Republican co-sponsor of the legislation, Arizona state Sen. Kelli Ward, joined the “Fox & Friends” crew Wednesday morning to explain the unpopular move.

Arizona, which is required to balance its budget, is facing a $1 billion deficit, according to the Associated Press.

“We had dug ourselves into a hole, and you can’t build anything on a hole,” Ward told host Steve Doocy.

According to The Associated Press, lawmakers see “welfare, Medicaid and other public assistance programs are crutches that keep the poor from getting back on their feet and achieving their potential.”

“I hope that the federal government takes a cue from Arizona and tries to get things under control,” Ward added. “We keep kicking the can down the road, and it’s not good for our citizens.”

This is a terrific step towards setting-back the sense of entitlement that has wrought financial devastation upon states.

Now, the next step is to commit to an oh-so-radical idea: that everybody should be responsible for themselves and eliminate welfare altogether.

Shocking, I know… But rest assured, this concept sustained mankind for 99.99999999% of our existence.
