From The Last TraditionIn 2015 try Googling “Chicago shooting” on any Monday morning and chances will very high you’d see 6 to 15 shootings that occurred that weekend in the Windy City.
But, I can’t recall one march led by the Rev. Al Sharpton protesting shootings by blacks upon other blacks in Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, Oakland, or any other urban city.
Nevertheless, when the rarity of a white cop shooting a black person occurs, that incident gets blown up into absurd proportions as if that’s the only way black gets shot.
Chicago Tribune reports six men and a woman were wounded in separate shootings beginning Wednesday morning in Chicago.
Most recently, a 25-year-old man was shot during a robbery around 2 a.m. in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
The man was in the 6000 block of South Carpenter Street when he was approached by two male offenders who announced a robbery and then fired gunshots, striking him in the leg. The offenders ran off with the man’s jacket and cellphone.
The victim was taken to St. Bernard Hospital where he was listed in good condition, police said.Around 11 p.m., a 23-year-old man walked into John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.
The man had been shot in the 2100 block of South Ashland Avenue in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood on the West Side, police said. He was in critical condition.
Investigators weren’t able to interview the man for further information because of his injuries, police said.A 25-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, were critically wounded in a shooting around 10:45 p.m. at the CTA’s 95th Street Red Line station, police said.
The man was shot in the chest, and the woman was shot in the knee and stomach, police said. The two were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where they were each listed in critical condition.

Chicago is a beautiful city. However, I think black lives really don’t matter there on a weekly basis!
