Former Miss America Contestant Just SHUT DOWN Miss Tennessee On Her Planned Parenthood Stance

Former Miss America Contestant, Maria Cahill, has no problem telling it like it is. In fact, when Miss Tennessee said that defunding Planned Parenthood would be a big mistake…among other uneducated statments on the matter…Cahill refused to let IGNORANCE have the last word…and responded LIKE THIS!

Former Miss America contestant and 2011 winner of the Miss Delaware competition, Maria Cahill, recently wrote an article in LifeSiteNews blasting Miss Tennessee’s answer regarding Planned Parenthood funding.

Here’s what Miss Tennessee said at the event, after making the top 7:
I don’t think Planned Parenthood funding should be cut off. The $500 million that gets given to Planned Parenthood every single year goes to female…care. It goes for scanning for cancers, it goes for mammograms…and if we don’t give that funding to Planned Parenthood, those women will be out of health care for reproductive causes.

Former Miss America contestant Cahill, a conservative and Catholic, takes Miss Tennessee to task for the statement.

First, Cahill attacks the politically correct environment of the Miss America competition. She writes:
If the rest of the girls competing do not walk away with the crown of Miss America, we should at least be given a ‘Miss Political Correctness’ runner-up trophy. The moment a girl decides she wants to compete in pageants is the moment where her opinions are altered, shaped, and molded to fit what others want to hear.

Cahill then moves to the substance of Miss Tennessee’s answer itself. She contends that there were two primary falsehoods in the answer. First, Planned Parenthood doesn’t even perform mammograms, and, second, Cahill writes that the women will not be out of health care for reproductive causes, as there are over 9,000 community health care centers nationwide which provide more comprehensive health services than those of Planned Parenthood.

These community health centers, which do not provide abortions, are set to receive the federal money that would otherwise go to Planned Parenthood, if the Senate bill on it passes.

Cahill writes:
Spoken like a true PP spokeswomen, Miss America contestant Hannah Robison fell into the web of lies that Planned Parenthood has been spewing for years. She became yet another woman who thinks that non-existent mammograms outweigh the illegal, inhumane, and frankly barbaric slaughter and selling of our children. She became one more woman who completely ignored the real healthcare offered to women by thousands of other non-PP facilities.

Finally, Cahill concludes: “How about we stop teaching our young women and men to be politically correct? Let’s just teach them to be correct.”

BOOM! Enough said.
