HORRIFIC: Woman commits suicide by a thousand crocodiles

Desperate woman chooses a dramatic end. A 65-year-old Thai woman committed suicide Friday by jumping into a pit that contained about a thousand crocodiles.

The newspaper reports Wanpen Inyai took off her shoes before jumping into the pit at the Samut Prakarn Crocodile Farm & Zoo in Bangkok.

Staff working at the tourist attraction reportedly attempted to rescue the woman but were unable to save her from the ravenous reptiles.

The 65-year-old woman’s family had reported her missing Friday, but police reportedly said they had to wait until 24 hours had passed before they could begin investigating her disappearance.

The woman’s sister told the Bangkok Post that her Inyai had been depressed and isolated herself in the days leading up to her death.

The woman’s family was later contacted by authorities after her health care card was found in the crocodile pond.

Inyai’s death was ruled a suicide, police told the newspaper.
