“A survivor of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing took her life back when she crossed the finish line of Monday’s race.

Rebekah Gregory, who endured more than a dozen surgeries as a result of the blast and now uses a prosthetic leg, ran the final few miles with her trainer who is also an amputee, WFXT-TV reported.

Gregory was told last week by her doctors that she was not ready to run the entire marathon and compromised by only running the last part of the race.

After the race, Gregory quoted 2 Timothy 4:7, writing, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

In just hours, her post had amassed more than 11,000 likes.

Hours before, the Boston Marathon survivor wrote on Facebook that she was ready to turn the page.

“This is the day….I take my life back,” she said.”
