Missouri Mom Credits ‘2nd Amendment Rights’ For Saving Family

President Cry-Baby likes to pretend that guns are the problem. In reality, guns are just tools. Some people use them for malice and most use them for legitimate purposes. When a knife-wielding madman attempted to jump-into an occupied vehicle, the mere threat of a concealed handgun was enough to send the madman running. Now, this Missouri mom and her husband are singing the praises of the Second Amendment which, they claim, saved their lives.

A Missouri woman says the right to carry a gun saved her family’s life last Sunday night. They were filling up their vehicle at a gas station when a man, armed with a knife, opened the door to get inside.

The family of four stopped at the Rapid Roberts on Sunshine Street just west of Highway 65 at about 8pm. A man approached their car acting strange.

Katie Claxton describes the tense moments in a Facebook post:

He opened the door and pulled put a knife about the size of a machete and pointed it at me while starting to get in the van. I screamed, “Matt get your gun!!!!” And the guy stopped getting in the car and said, “You’re lucky he has a gun” and then shut the door and started walking away.”

Claxton says she told her husband Matt to shoot the stranger. Instead, he fired off a call to 911.

Officers showed up soon after and took David Middleton, 42, into custody. He has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a weapon.

The Springfield News Leader reports that Middleton said he was paranoid. He believed the vehicles in the gas station parking lot were sent by his cousin to do surveillance on him, according to the probable cause statement. He told authorities that he leaned into the Claxtons’ vehicle to tell them to stop following him.

Claxton’s Facebook post has gone viral. It has been shared over 9,000 times. It may be because of this concluding statement:

“The police are here to protect us but we also have to protect ourselves. This is why we carry. THIS IS WHY WE NEED TO PROTECT OUR RIGHT TO CARRY.”

Guns don’t solve every problem, but each and every day in America, “good guys with guns” use these tools to save lives. From police to common concealed carriers, a gun in the righ, law-abiding hands makes society safer.

Now, if only emperor Obama would just grasp that concept…
