Obama’s Claims About His Support For Israel Will Leave You Speechless

Obama’s Claims About His Support For Israel Will Leave You Speechless

Words are pretty cheap. If you listen to what he says, and ignores what he does, President Barack Obama wants to deregulate the economy, lower taxes, and preserve Second Amendment rights. (I’ll give you a second or two to stop laughing hysterically…) Apparently, he is also a heroic champion for the people of Israel. Speaking to an audience at a synagogue in northwest Washington DC, the President dismissed any notion that he is less-than-fond of the Jewish state.

During a lengthy interview with Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic, the president said: “There’s a direct line between supporting the right of the Jewish people to have a homeland and to feel safe and free of discrimination and persecution, and the right of African Americans to vote and have equal protection under the law. These things are indivisible in my mind.”

Obama re-iterated his support for the Jewish state in an address at Adas Israel Synagogue in northwest Washington, D.C., on Friday, marking the inaugural “solidarity sabbath.” The holiday is meant to consolidate support for Jews amid rising anti-Semitism in Europe and worldwide. A report released in March found 2014 to be the worst year for violent anti-Semitic incidents in a decade.

Obama went on: “When I hear some people say that disagreements over policy belie a general lack of support of Israel, I must object – and I object forcefully.” But, he said he was unwilling to “paper over differences.”

“It is precisely because I care so deeply about the state of Israel,” he said, “that I feel a responsibility to speak out honestly about what I think would lead to long-term security and to the preservation of a true democracy in the Jewish homeland, and I believe that’s two states for two peoples, Israel and Palestine living side by side,” peacefully and securely.

The chutzpah!

Keep in mind, this is the same administration that refuses to acknowledge Jerusalem as the capitol of Israel. Apparently, in Obama’s mind, support for Israel is demonstrated by pushing for a Palestinian State, interfering with Israel’s democratic elections (remember: Obama campaign officials tried to oust Netanyahu…), and helping the genocidal Iranian regime move forward with their nuclear ambitions.

If this is what it looks like to be supported by President Barack Obama, let’s hope he doesn’t decide to show any of our other allies how much he loves them. The truth is, the President’s political party booed the mention of Israel in their Party platform in 2012… And Obama (as it turns out) is a pretty perfect Democrat.
