Saturday night, the Obama’s hosted a star-studded private party. Prince and Stevie Wonder were invited to perform. It seems the Obama’s were trying to keep news of this party quiet, however, Al Sharpton couldn’t help but spill the beans.
It was all in celebration of African-American Music Appreciation Month, according to the New York Post.
Don’t bother checking the White House calendar — it makes no mention of it. Apparently, the first family wanted to keep this one quiet.
But you can’t invite 500 friends — close or not — over for a night of food, wine and song and not expect someone to spill the beans.
Enter Mr. Bean-spiller himself, blabber-mouth and name-dropper extraordinaire, Al Sharpton, sometimes referred to as the “Reverend Al.”
As he was leaving the executive mansion, he tweeted:
Leaving the White House party w/POTUS and FLOTUS. Awesome to see Prince and Stevie Wonder on keyboards together. Unbelievable experience.
According to White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest, the party was paid for with private funds. This is the same Josh Earnest who called Obama’s major defeat at the hands of his own party a “procedural snafu.“
