Parents March Out After H.S. Principal Slams Police for ‘Killing Young Black Men’ in Graduation Speech

A Missouri principal didn’t let decorum get in the way of bringing politics into the happy occasion of his students’ graduation. Dr. Fred Skretta of Belton High School said something so over-the-top that many parents walked out.

Belton attacked police for “killing young black men.”

“I wanted to be a teacher ‘cause I wanted to change the world.”

“I wanted to make it a better place. I’m gonna be honest with you, in a lot of ways I fear that we are not there yet. If we were there, we wouldn’t have conflicts between police killing young black men.”

Seriously?

Many parents at the Belton Missouri High School graduation got up and walked out after the offensive comments.

It’s shameful that a principal would turn the attention away from the hard work and achievement of his students. It’s deplorable that he would use his stage to promote conflict in society.
