Christian Teacher Sues School After He’s Suspended For ‘Misgendering’ Transgender Student [VIDEO]

A Christian teacher, suspended for “misgendering” a student is now taking his argument to court, saying that he shouldn’t be forced into accepting the new transgender ideology.

In November, Joshua Sutcliffe was summoned to a formal disciplinary hearing for misconduct after he accidentally misgendered a student. He wanted to praise a group of hard working students and said, “Good job, girls!,” but one of the students, who identifies as transgender, took offence. When he was corrected by the student, Sutcliffe apologized to the student who wanted to be referred to as a male. The student later told his mother, who went on to file a complaint.

Sutcliffe, who in addition to being a teacher is also an evangelical pastor, said that his resultant suspension from the English school in Oxfordshire is “political correctness gone mad.”

Oxfordshire, England.

Sutcliffe had taught at the school since the fall of 2015, working with students aged 11-18. He started a Bible club shortly after joining the school, but it was recently shut down. After producing the curriculum the Head teacher told Sutcliffe was necessary to run the club, the club was cancelled anyway. Other school clubs, including the “mindfulness club,” the Qigong club and the LGBTI club are able to continue despite the lack of the documents demanded by the school for the Bible club.

In a letter to that same Head teacher, Sutcliffe lays out part of his case:

“As a Christian, I do not share your belief in the ideology of transgenderism. I do not believe that young children should be encouraged to self-select a ‘gender’ which may be different from their biological sex; or that everyone at school should adjust their behavior to accommodate such a ‘transition’; or that people should be punished for lack of enthusiasm about it.”

The school and its Head teacher are being taken to an Employment Tribunal with the accusation of Gross Misconduct. Further, he complains with his legal counsel that allowing transgender ideology can cause harm to children and that instead of forcing people like Sutcliffe to use pronouns or face isolation, students who believe they are transgender should not be encouraged to reject their biological sex.

Students need emotional support, not surgery and the ability to interrupt the life of any person who does not toe the line.

After the complaint was initially filed, Sutcliffe appeared on a morning show to explain his situation in this nine-minute interview:
